John Mooy - Sound Engineer, Guitar Tech., Musician Guitar Tech for Jimmy Messina, Kenny Loggins, CPR (David Crosby Band), and Dishwalla "Debra Farris Band sounds 'Funkin' Great!"

Don Grady - Composer for Film & Television, DAG Music
“Debra sings from the belly of the blues.  Her open honesty is nobody's business...but she makes it ours.  It's the atmosphere that she creates..."this is who I am" ....and you believe every word.  It's her ride and you're in her sidecar the whole trip.  It's a trip you don't want to miss.”

The Blues Bunny - Blues podcast, "This collection of songs from the Debra Farris Band, as the album title implies, predominately features cover versions. With a solid band to back her up Debra is able to go for broke on the delivery of the material that has been chosen, and the result is a particularly catchy set of music.

As tends to be the case with cover versions some work better than others, and on occasions it just all seems to fall into place and they work spectacularly well. This is the case with her version of T-Bone Walker's "Stormy Monday"; this one really does hit the mark and she gives us a superb, slow bluesy performance of a genuinely classic song.

With "Route 66" we are treated to a swinging jazz style interpretation of the song, and Van Morrison's "Moondance" is given a similar, and strangely pleasing, treatment. On Bill Withers' "Use Me" she demonstrates a somewhat funkier side with another standout performance. She also features a couple of her own compositions, with the blues tinted "Exponential" and the slightly funky sounding "Get Up". She even pulls off a great rocking version of Lennon & McCartney's "I Saw Her Standing There" to finish.

Admittedly it may not be the most original album you'll ever hear. However, there is always as place for someone who can interpret, or re-interpret, the songs of others. It is an often much maligned talent, and a talent that Debra seems to posses more than most."

Jennifer Tade - Joey Stuckey's Audio Style, Assoc. Producer

"I LOVE ‘Gotcha Covered’. I first listened to it because I was creating graphics for Deb. Then I got hooked. Those songs have some of the highest play counts in my iTunes & iPod. I just love the Blues and Deb’s takes on some old songs are brilliant & funky & she can really sing the blues....maybe even better than the originals. Her own songs are really great to listen to when you’ve got the headphones stuck deep in your ears ".

Michelle Gysan - Broker, CUSO Mortgage, lead singer & guitarist of The Furloins

Patricia Rushton - Harper, Composer Mixolydian Music
“Debra Farris Band isn’t just another tight club band; Debra Farris stands out as a Singer/Songwriter of extraordinary talent and originality. Her lyrics move me. Although these songs come out of her own experience,
they are universal themes. Debra Farris is singing about my life, your life and how we feel … Debra Farris is best known for her powerful, high-energy songs, but this versatile artist has a special gift delivering a sensitive and beautiful ballad such as ‘The Way’”.

Bill Fullmer - Musician, mentor, childhood babysitter, 1st Martin guitar giftor

Hey Debra, this is your waitress from the Palm's - you played Friday night there. I just want to say you really sounded so great! And you played so many of my favorites too, your Janis Joplin rendition was a nice start to the evening. I was too tired to stay after my shift, but you sure did make my night glide on thru to the end. I love your mix of music, what a fantastic blend of sound! You are truly a wonderful artist, I hope to catch another one of your shows sometime. I felt honored to meet you, thanks for sitting at my table, hope you had a good evening too. And guitar, WOW, you just sounded great, I have worked a lot of Friday nights and listened to a lot of bands and I must say you have been thee most enjoyable to hear, thank you again.
peace, love and prayers, Trish
